Thanks to latest technology available for communication at our disposable, I would like to stay in touch with you using 'My Blog'. I would request you to provide your feedback on this effort of mine, to see how I can meet your needs through my blogs.
I am new to this method of communication, so do excuse me..if I make mistakes as I move along here and I will appreciate if you can provide me guidance on this topic.
In Oct 1996, Prashant & I decided to move to USA. Prashant was on a work H1 and I took up the challenge once more to study dentistry in the USA which would enable me to continue my passion for dentistry and my desire to serve the community as a Dentist. Due to licensing procedures, I had to study all over again to earn my license to practice in the USA. I still remember those days vividly, when I took my first test with my 29 days old daughter (Ayesha) !
I got my DDS license in 1999. This enabled me to now practice dentistry in the USA. I worked in group practice in Mountain View CA for almost 5 years. I earned a tremendous wealth of knowledge & experience of working as a Dentist in the USA.
In 2004, with my two children still very young, aged 7 (Ayesha) & 2 (Yash), I realized a need for a career wherein I can continue to do what I loved the most, i.e., practice dentistry & be able to be a good mother. With an incessant support from Prashant and my extended family, I ventured to start my own practice.

I wanted to start off with a little bit about myself.
Taking you back to the 1980's, I decided to become a dentist when I was still in Junior College.
One of the key reasons for making this decision was the inspiration that I got looking at my mother's dentist and how he worked on my mother and various other people and relieved them of their pain and brought a smile on his patient's faces.
Becoming a dentist was not as easy as I had thought. As if 4 years of doing Bachelor of Dentistry was not enough pain, I continued expanding my knowledge of dentistry by completing my Masters in Dentistry
from the Mumbai University.

While I was doing my dental studies, I felt that I could have a bigger impact on the
dental community along with the general population if I could teach in a dental school while I served the general population. This prompted me to take up a
challenging assignment of teaching to the next generation of dental professionals, while I lived 200 miles away from my home town. I served as a dental college professor in Pravara Dental College in Loni (Near Nasik), Maharashtra, India
In 1996, After serving for a year as an instructor in Oral Diagnosis & Medicine at Pravara Dental College, Loni, I decided to get married to Prashant Godiwala. I then started working as an associate dentist with an Oral Surgeon in Mumbai. My experience with oral surgeon widened my horizons in practicing surgery.

With the support of friends like you, I started building one smile at a time and today I am overwhelmed with the kind of appreciation that I receive from patrons such as you. Looking back at my journey of the last 20 years, I feel that I am one of the very few lucky people who had a chance to live my dream.
Looking ahead, I would like to ensure that I continue to make more an more people smile each day with my service and I am hoping that I will continue to get the same support from each one of you and my family as I have had in the past few years. Thanks again for enabling me to succeed in my endeavor.
